Differences:

Flow direction alteration: Fluid enters via the inlet flange beneath the valve body, impacting the seat beneath the disc. Upon valve opening, the fluid does not proceed in a straight line but is guided by the disc to flow upwards and undergo a 90-degree turn, exiting through the side outlet flange.

Reduced flow resistance: Compared to straight-through globe valves requiring a ‘U’-shaped bypass around the seat, the angular valve features a smoother flow path and lower pressure drop.
