JIS F7375 Cast Iron Globe Valve (SDNR)

Standard:

JIS F 7375 - Standard for Cast Iron Globe Valves for marine use. Defines design, materials, pressure-temperature ratings, dimensions, and testing.

Type: Globe Valve, Outside Screw & Yoke (OS&Y) - Rising Stem. SDNR indicates Screwed, flaNged, or thReaded end connections (specific type chosen per order).

Pressure Rating:

Nominal Pressure JIS 10K (Equivalent to ~PN16/Class 150). Suitable for maximum working pressure of 1.0 MPa (10 kgf/cm²) at 120°C.

Overview

Advantages

• Good Throttling: Excellent for regulating flow.

• Positive Shut-off: Provides reliable sealing in the closed position.

• Renewable Disc: Lowers long-term maintenance costs.

• Rising Stem: Clear visual position indication.

• Standardized: JIS compliance ensures easy integration into existing Japanese-standard or similar piping systems.

Disadvantages & Typical Applications

• High Pressure Drop: The tortuous flow path causes significant resistance, leading to energy loss.

• Higher Operating Force: Requires more torque to operate compared to gate valves, especially in larger sizes.

• Heavier and Bulkier: Compared to other valve types of the same size.
